Green Apple Smoothie

This Green Apple Smoothie is a totally refreshing, fruity, and super-yummy fall shake! With just a few ingredients you may already have on hand, it's quick and easy to make, for a nutritious meal or snack!

Green Apple Smoothie Recipe

Although apples are available year-round, now is the perfect time to stock up on this delicious fruit, since they're in season and at their peak in freshness and flavor! There are countless ways to utilize apples whether it be in baked goods, oatmeal, or with your favorite nut butter. They may not be as commonly used in smoothies, but I've recently been obsessed with blending up apples into my shakes, which is how this Green Apple Smoothie was created.

Using green apples and fresh lemon juice, this tart and tangy smoothie is the definition of refreshing! Not to mention, these fruits are a source of powerful plant compounds, including polyphenols and antioxidants to support your health in many ways - like boosting immunity and combating free radicals.

The “green” part of this smoothie not only refers to the green apple, but also to the handful of spinach that's included. The leafy greens help add extra fiber to create a beautifully-balanced smoothie that you can enjoy as a nourishing breakfast or snack.

What You Need to Make this Smoothie

This smoothie is super simple to make and all you need is 310 Organic Unflavored, unsweetened coconut milk, frozen green apple slices, spinach, fresh lemon juice, hemp seeds, chia seeds, and ice. The best part is you can easily blend this up in under five minutes!

310 Organic Unflavored

Adding a scoop of 310 Organic Unflavored is my favorite way to keep a smoothie’s fresh flavors while providing a plethora of clean, quality nutrients. It also gives your smoothie a creamy texture that can be hard to achieve when you’re blending large amounts of frozen fruit. With no sweetener added, this shake is extremely versatile and can be used in a variety of recipes including oatmeal, granola bars, chia seed puddings, and baked goods with complete control over the sweetness level.

If that isn’t impressive enough, here are some additional qualities that especially stand out…

  • 15g of plant-based proteins from a blend of pumpkin, brown rice, and pea
  • 5g of dietary fiber per serving
  • Vegan, keto, and paleo-friendly
  • Contains powerful organic superfoods including spinach, broccoli, kale, turmeric, spirulina, and more

Ways to “Shake Up” this Smoothie

Make this recipe uniquely yours and add your favorite boosters into this smoothie for a personalized drink! This smoothie is tasty as is, but check out some of these alternative ingredients you can try incorporating to change up the flavor...

  • Add fresh grated ginger for a kick
  • Avocado or flax seed instead of chia and hemp
  • Unsweetened almond or cashew milk instead of coconut milk
  • Coconut water instead of coconut milk
  • Kale in place of spinach
  • Swap out lemon juice for lime juice

How to Make this Shake

Before we get to blending anything, core and slice your green apple the day prior and place the sliced apples into the freezer and allow them to harden overnight.

When you’re ready to prepare your smoothie, the first step is to puree your spinach with coconut milk to ensure all large leafy bits are eliminated for a smooth consistency.

Once you have your spinach puree, combine the rest of the ingredients into the blender and continue blending on medium-to-high until you reach a creamy texture. And there you have it... a revitalizing and yummy smoothie that you can enjoy whenever you desire!
